CHALLENGE:

Azul Couzens had built something rare, an authentic, high-integrity Mexican food brand that was earning nationwide distribution and doubling revenue year over year. But success brought bigger questions:

Should he raise equity and go all-in on hypergrowth? Or should he preserve profitability and maintain control?

With both pressure and opportunity mounting, Azul knew he needed a strategic financial partner, not just to run the books, but to help him navigate the decision ahead.

OUR FIX:

Cultivar stepped in to serve as ¡Ya Oaxaca!’s financial operations team, bringing structure and strategic thinking to the next stage of the company’s growth.

We took over accounting to ensure timely, accurate reporting, then rebuilt the company’s three-statement financial model from the ground up. That model became the foundation for real-time scenario planning, helping Azul understand the impact of different growth paths, from equity raises to organic expansion.

We also partnered closely with ¡Ya Oaxaca!’s Cin7 implementer, finalizing the QBO integration and reengineering the chart of accounts to support inventory tracking and automation at scale.

The result was a business that wasn’t just growing, but growing with clarity.

RESULTS:

Azul now has what every founder wants: options.

With clean books, a flexible financial model, and fully integrated inventory and accounting systems, ¡Ya Oaxaca! is positioned to grow profitably, raise capital when it’s right, not when it’s urgent, and continue sharing real Mexican flavors with a national audience.
