CHALLENGE:
Alec’s Ice Cream was riding a rapid growth curve (doubling sales year over year), but Alec needed more than bookkeeping. He needed a CPG finance and accounting partner who could operate as an extension of his team.
He was juggling stress over cash flow and inventory, all while trying to keep high growth and avoid running out of runway.
OUR FIX:
We built the foundational building blocks of financial operations: clean, accurate accounting and a dynamic three-statement financial model that tied production, inventory, and sales forecasts together. From there, we flagged suboptimal inventory levels and helped the operations team right-size inventory while streamlining production planning and bringing days-on-hand down to target.
We also built in a debt schedule to manage Accounts Payable financing and other debt facilities to maintain safe cash levels. And as the $11M equity raise was underway, we were in the trenches: managing weekly cash monitoring, negotiating with vendors to stretch cash, and offering heavy operational support.
RESULTS:
3 years of consistent double sales growth
Secured $11M in equity financing
3 debt facilities secured and managed to fuel growth
Operational win: Days on inventory reduced to target levels through production forecasting improvements
Founder’s emotional shift: Alec gained confidence, knowing he had the right financial team in his corner
